The cave swim, step by step

The cenote is a collapsed limestone cave the Taíno people used as a water source. A staircase leads down to a platform where you leave your things, put on a life vest and step into fresh water at around 24 °C.

Guides stay in the water with the group and take photos from the platform. The swim lasts about 20 minutes and towels are worth bringing.

What else is on the route

Before the cave you ride the buggy or quad through farmland, mud tracks and a plantation stop where you taste local coffee, cocoa and fruit. After the swim the route reaches Macao Beach, the only wild public beach on this coast.
