Why visit Macao Beach
Macao is protected from construction, so it looks the way the whole coast did decades ago: open sand, palm trees, surf schools and Dominican food shacks. It is roughly 30 minutes north of Bávaro and cannot be reached comfortably from most resorts without a tour or a private car.
What to bring
Swimwear, a towel, closed shoes, reef-safe sunscreen and some cash for drinks or a fresh fish lunch at the beach. Waves at Macao can be strong — swim in the flagged area and follow your guide.
