Macao Beach Tour from Punta Cana

Macao Beach is the last undeveloped public beach on the Punta Cana coast — golden sand, real Atlantic waves and no resort walls. Our 4-hour tour reaches it by off-road buggy or ATV, with a stop at a freshwater Taíno cave along the way.

Why visit Macao Beach

Macao is protected from construction, so it looks the way the whole coast did decades ago: open sand, palm trees, surf schools and Dominican food shacks. It is roughly 30 minutes north of Bávaro and cannot be reached comfortably from most resorts without a tour or a private car.

What to bring

Swimwear, a towel, closed shoes, reef-safe sunscreen and some cash for drinks or a fresh fish lunch at the beach. Waves at Macao can be strong — swim in the flagged area and follow your guide.

Macao Beach ATV tour — how the ride gets there

The Macao Beach ATV tour leaves the hotel zone on paved road, turns onto countryside tracks after Verón, crosses farmland and the cenote area, and arrives at Macao from the dunes side. The last stretch along the sand is the part everyone photographs.

Because the beach is public, there is no entrance fee — you pay only the tour, which covers the machine, guide, cave swim and transfer.
